Product Overview:

Prevent forward sliding by eliminating posterior pelvic tilt with the Skil-Care (tm) Slide Guard Cushion. Equipped with a four inch foam pommel, the Skil-Care (tm) Slide Guard Cushion promotes hip and leg abduction to promote proper positioning. The optional water-based gel surface lowers interface pressure and provides protective cooling to prevent breakdown caused by perspiration. The comfortable high-density foam adds a superior level of comfort to any chair and will retain stability. The Skil-Care (tm) Slide Guard Cushion is available in a Level or a Wedge cushion with a soft or firm foundation. See chart below for more information on exact dimensions.

Skil-Care (tm) Slide Guard Cushion Features :

Foam pommel controls sliding by eliminating posterior pelvic tilt

Water based gel is very effective in weight distribution (maximizing interface contact area), reduction of shearing forces and heat build-up.

The advantage of gels cooling effect is highlighted by studies that have determined that a one-degree buildup of body temperature increases the metabolic demand of the tissue by 10%, which in turn contributes to an increase in the susceptibility to develop pressure sores.
