Contours in the middle and side sections of the Anti-Thrust Wheelchair Cushion help to correctly align the user's backend to keep them upright and their spine more correctly aligned. This helps create better posture and reduces the strain and possible injuries on the back, buttocks, and shoulders.
The bottom of the cushion is non-skid which combined with the hook and loop attachment stops the cushion from sliding forward during use, especially while readjusting or getting onto the cushion. The anti-thrust style of the cushion provides more height in the front anterior section to also keep the user sitting upright.
The cushion is constructed from two types of foam for comfort and correct alignment and a Quadra3D gel pack that reduces shear and buildup of heat that can occur for sitting for extended periods of time. The gel pack also helps to redistribute weight more evenly, reducing pain and pressure in one area of the user's backside.
The Stretch-Air with GlideWear cover is made of breathable material that provides airflow to the skin, to wick away moisture and allow for better heat dissipation. The cover stretches in multiple directions to redistribute pressure, greatly reducing the risk of pressure sores and ulcers. A shear reduction zone on the seat protects skin from damage that can occur from friction.
