The Acta-Embrace Foam Wheelchair Cushion contours to the user's backside to remain comfortable, protect the skin, and encourage the user to sit correct and upright. There are two cover options: The Comfort-Tek cover and the Stretch-Air cover. The Comfort-Tek cover material is smooth and soft on the top to reduce the risk of skin breakdown while a stretchable second internal layer helps to provide pressure relief and distribution. Designed to create a barrier against incontinence, the Comfort-Tek guards against infection to protect the user from infection and prolong the life of the cushion. The Stretch-Air cover material allows for more breathability and heat dissipation.
Additionally, the Stretch-Air cover uses a multi-directional stretch to relieve pressure and promote proper back support. The cushion also features light-reflective piping along the side that helps to improve safety, especially in the early morning or evening when the light is low. The cushion is also available with or without GlideWear, which reduces shear forces in order to protect the skin. The GlideWear feature improves comfort and is available as an embedded upgrade to either fabric cover options.
