The Anti-Thrust Cushion is designed to keep residents from sliding out of their wheelchair while simultaneously preventing pressure sores. The high-density foam anti-thrust barrier prevents forward and sacral sitting while maintaining pelvic neutrality. Larger model is offered for use in geri-chairs. Includes low-shear cover to reduce skin damaging friction and clean easily. Gel-foam models include a special water-based gel pod for extra comfort (image above shows gel-foam model). Choose from soft or firm base in either foam or gel-foam.

More Information

The contoured base of the Anti-Thrust Cushion works to eliminate sling-seat hammocking and minimizes seat rise comfortably. Choose between with or without firm hammock relief base. The optional gel pod provides additional relief in the coccyx area. Straps are included for maintaining chair position for the cushion.

This is a highly comfortable alternative to pommel-style cushions, especially for male residents. The restraint-free positioning cushion can be used in conjunction with fall prevention alarms and while it may prevent sliding from a chair, patients should always be monitored as needed.

Outer cover is machine washable; inner cover is heat sealed and can be wiped clean with a standard disinfectant.

Answer: The outer cover can be wiped clean and is removable. It can be hand or machine washed, air or machine dried at temperatures less than 140o F (60o C). The inner cover is heat sealed and can be wiped clean with standard disinfectants.
