The Expander TLSO (torso lumbosacral orthosis) uses an air pocket expansion system to restrict unwanted motion in the sagittal-coronal-transverse plane. When inflated, the orthosis provides traction between the lower rib cage and upper trochanter, reducing pressure on the lower back and intervertebral discs. A hand air pump is included to inflate the Expander TLSO. A rigid panel is also incorporated, which extends from the sacrococcygeal junction to the inferior scapular spine, which helps provide lateral strength and support; it can be removed if necessary. What's the difference between the Dorsal Lumbar Kit and the Anterior Thoracic Extension? The Dorsal Lumbar Kit (DLK) features backpack-style (over-the-shoulder) straps. The Anterior Thoracic Extension provides a more rigid support and features a rigid metal bar mounted to the front of the brace to restrict thoracic motion.

Standard Sternal Pad Kit: Features a single sternal plate. Must be manually manipulated with a bending iron to achieve flexion/extension.

The Expander TLSO is 11 cm wide when non-inflated, and can be expanded by up to 7 cm (2.8 in.) to a full height of 18 cm, providing spacing between the intervertebral discs.

For proper sizing, measure around the patient's waist. Sizes small through 5X-large are available.
