Product Overview:

Apex Medical's Domus 4 Alternating Pressure Mattress System is a perfect mattress for anyone nursing pressure-related injuries. It offers a delicate touch and an ideal level of care while also incorporating several advanced features that ensure the patient's safety and comfort.

Apex Medical manufactured this product with the patient in mind, incorporating a low air loss design to maintain enough pressure in the event of power failure. The mattress unit also comes with a simple digital pump that you can use to inflate it instead of the manual version that will be overly labor-intensive. The pump itself has a low working noise, ensuring that the patient gets proper rest when they need it.

More Information

Pressure-related injuries are some of the worst to manage. Most caregivers find it challenging to navigate the fine line between maintaining a patient's comfort while administering the proper levels of care to them. Considering that any addition in pressure can lead to severe pain, this difficulty is understandable.

However, the Domus 4 Alternating Pressure Mattress System from Apex Medical provides a reliable and effective way of addressing this difficulty. Thanks to its intuitive design and ease of use, this mattress gives you the best of both worlds - enough breathing room for caregivers to work and optimal comfort for the patient.

The most prominent benefit that this mattress provides is its range of therapy modes. There are 5 therapy modes, all designed to meet a patient's needs. The Max Firm mode offers a solid surface for the patient to lay down while you work, and there is an Alternating Mode for optimal pressure redistribution. Continuous Low Pressure (CLP) offers a stable surface with a lower pressure, and two different Seat Inflation modes assist the patient when they need to sit up.

You also enjoy an easy-to-use setup and a quick connector that helps to meet all transportation needs. The Domus 4 Alternating Pressure Mattress System is safe and durable, and it will provide a significant amount of long-term use for any hospital looking to cater to patients with pressure-related injuries.

How do I operate the lock button for the control panel?

After five minutes of not being touched, the green LED will light and the control panel will lock all settings. To unlock, simply press the lock button for three seconds.
What should be included in the shipped package of the Domus 4 by Apex Medical?
Answer: There should be a mattress unit, a pump unit, and a user manual.
How do I know what the perfect pressure is for my size?
Answer: There is a fairly simple process for determining the optimal amount of pressure. First, inflate the mattress to the max pressure level and have the patient lie on top of the mattress. Then, gradually decrease the pressure until comfortable (without bottoming out). The caregiver should place their palm up between the buttocks area and the static cell. If the palm touches the patient's buttock, increase the pressure until the skin is at least 1/2" away from the palm. Try to always leave a 1" space between the patient's buttock areas to the static cell under to prevent bottoming out.
Can be used regular sheets ,clothes, diaper.... in this air bed that offers low or true air loss options since the mattress blow through a laser hole?
Answer: Yes, the cover over the mattress is very protective, so you can use traditional items that you normally would on any other bed.
