Provide state-of-the-art therapy without ever having your patient leave bed with the
Dolphin FIS (Fluid Immersion Simulation) Pediatric Mattress. Designed to mimic the physical effects of a body submerged in a fluid medium, this innovative therapy system offers unequaled pressure redistribution and pain management. The
pressure redistribution helps to treat and prevent wounds by lessening soft tissue degradation; it also helps the body maintain a consistently near-normal blood flow. The
pain management that this system gives has been shown to alleviate discomfort from AIDS, arthritis, and oncology treatment.
This progressive system operates by use of a
therapy control unit. This control unit adjusts and controls all functions of the mattress and requires
no manual input. The mattress support surface
automatically adjusts to each patient's body weight, shape, and any repositionings. The system
monitors the support surface over 100 times per second to detect any sort of patient movement or surface change, adjusting itself as needed. By maintaining an optimal support surface, the Dolphin System creates a
neutrally buoyant state and is able to provide an
individualized immersion profile.
This system addresses pressure redistribution, friction reduction, and reduction in shearing forces, which are key areas in the treatment of compromised skin. The
pressure redistribution that the Dolphin System provides effectively treats amputations, burns, grafts, flaps, and pressure ulcers. The
pain management offered by the Dolphin System helps to relieve discomfort from AIDS, arthritis, and oncology treatment.
In the event of a disconnection or power loss, the system will sound an alarm and illuminate its LEDs. The system possesses a
rechargeable battery backup that gives the control unit power for up to 12 hours in the event of power disruption or failure.
NOTE (for DLPP3588OVDMJKIT Model ONLY): There is an air-filled safety cell that protects patients from bottoming out in the event of power failure that exceeds the beds battery life.
