The Comfy Spring Loaded Goniometer Elbow Orthosis is indicated for patients with non-fixed contractures. A non-fixed contracture is any contracted joint that can be flexed or extended. Elbow joint contractures are classified as below:
5-30 degrees = mild contracture
30-90 degrees = moderate contracture
90 degrees plus = severe contracture
Therapeutic uses of the Comfy Spring Loaded Goniometer Elbow Orthosis:
Graduated extension of the elbow
Treatment of non-fixed contractures of the elbow
Helps restrict arthritic changes and deformity related to neuromascular impairment
Positions the flaccid elbow and arm in functional position
Maintains skin integrity by absorbing moisture, allowing air circulation and preventing skin maceration on upper arm and forearm

The splint straps close with velcro - but no velcro touches the patient's skin
The splint is soft with rounded padded edges to minimize self injury
