It provides the same benefits as serial casting, allowing for progressive extension of the elbow in 10-degree increments. Adjust the goniometer hinge, using the included Allen wrench, to set the Comfy Splints Pediatric Spring Loaded Goniometer Elbow Orthosis to the desired range of motion. The Comfy Splints Pediatric Spring Loaded Goniometer Elbow Orthosis may only be returned, unused, within thirty days.

Each Comfy Splints Pediatric Spring Loaded Goniometer Elbow Orthosis comes with at least one washable terrycloth cover, with a soft foam liner for padding. Using the cover improves the look of your orthosis and prevents the frame from exerting pressure on an injury or damaging the wearer's skin. Small orthoses come with lavender colors, medium with turquoise, and large with teal.

The Comfy Splints Pediatric Spring Loaded Goniometer Elbow Orthosis is only indicated for patients with non-fixed contractures (contracted joints that can still be flexed or extended). Elbow joint contractures are classified as follows:

5-30 degrees: mild contracture
30-90 degrees: moderate contracture
90+ degrees: severe contracture

The Comfy Splints Pediatric Spring Loaded Goniometer Elbow Orthosis can be used for the following:
  • Treatment of non-fixed contractures of the elbow
  • Helps restrict arthritic changes and deformity related to neuromascular impairment
  • Positions the flaccid elbow and arm in functional position
  • Maintains skin integrity by absorbing moisture, allowing air circulation and preventing skin maceration on upper arm and forearm

    Contra-Indications:

    • Patient has circulatory problems
    • Pressure areas or skin irritations appear
    • Patients has persistent pain in the area treated
    • Patient has increased edema, redness or blisters
    • Patient has fixed flexion contractures
