Comfort Tension Seating
Comfort Tension Seating is a suspension system that conforms to the patient's body and redistributes pressure, providing the ultimate in long term care seating comfort. By conforming to the resident's body, the seating system helps to properly position the pelvis. Those with spine disorders, including kyphosis and lordosis, are also comfortably accommodated with the Centric.
Because Broda seating is designed using straps, the wheelchair allows air to flow throughout, which decreases the occurrence of heat and moisture build-up. Comfort Tension Seating minimizes pressure placed on the resident's body, improves blood flow, and promotes tissue oxygenation. These features help to maintain skin integrity, a very important concern in long term care facilities.
Infinite Adjustability
The Centric is a semi-recliner, meaning that it tilts and reclines to a lesser degree than Broda's other long term care recliners. A posterior seat tilt of up to 25 degrees helps improve posture and prevent falls from occurring by assisting with sit-to-stand transfers. This feature also helps with comfortable positioning for breathing and feeding. In order to encourage socialization, the front pivoting seat tilt feature helps maintain the patient's line of vision. With the tilt feature, the resident's weight can also be redistributed, which is beneficial for maintaining skin integrity.
The back reclines up to 45 degrees, allowing for the elimination of patient restraints. Used as an alternative positioning option for those with hip flexion limitations, the Centric allows patients to be out of the bed when the tilt and reclining features are used together. Other adjustable features include the armrests, seat to floor height, and an elevating length adjustable leg rest. The Centric keeps the residents comfortable, eliminating the need to make as many transfers.
Quality Construction
The Centric frame is constructed of 16 gauge powder coated tubular steel that resists corrosion. Made to be durable and last with heavy use, the Centric is made using only quality construction, which ensures a reduction in facility equipment replacement and maintenance costs.
Comfortable Padding and Support
The Centric comes standard with a headrest cushion, shoulder bolsters, lower side pads, upper side pads, a calf pad, sole pad, and seat and back pad with cover.
Accommodates a Variety of Medical Conditions
Patients with moderate positional needs can have alternative seating options that get them out of bed and socializing. Broda's Comfort Tension Seating Suspension System ergonomically supports residents with kyphosis and lordosis. When the tilt and semi-reclined features are used together, those with hip flexion limitations can be comfortably positioned. An optional contracture sling can also be added, which accommodates a variety of knee contractures.
Easy Mobility
The Centric comes standard with casters, but Mag wheels can be added to help better maneuver the chair, allowing patients to move about the facility, socialize, and engage in surroundings. Choose from 20, 22, and 24-inch front and rear Mag wheels.
Fully Customizeable
The Centric Tilt can be customized to meet your facility's needs. Choose from 3 different upholstery colors, 3 different strap colors, 7 different seat widths, 4 different seat depths, 3 different seat heights, 3 different back heights, 7 different wheel options, 3 different armrests, 2 different footrests, 3 different Additional Positioning Packages, as well as a leg contracture sling conversion kit.
