Teak trees grow in areas of high sand content that absorbs into the tree. This fact combined with the oils contained in the heartwood of the tree enables the wood to be water resistant, and resistant to mold, mildew, and bacteria.

Maintenance
The Teak wood used in construction has a naturally slip-resistant surface, but during use can have soap and mineral build-up. To easily clean the bench, use water or a mild soap mixture and scrub with a soft bristle brush. Then rinse and allow to air dry.
