Protekt Aire 6000 Alternating Pressure Low Air Loss Mattress System

Leading causes for pressure ulcers include long-term pressure and friction on parts of the body, moisture buildup, and decreased circulation. The Protekt (tm) Aire 6000 uses two therapies to address these problems and stop pressure ulcers from forming. The alternating pressure feature allows vulnerable pressure points on the body to get relief by redistributing pressure across the body. Low air loss circulates air across the surface of the mattress and the patient's skin to keep it cool and dry. These functions provide excellent prevention of pressure ulcers and help improve healing of existing wounds.

The Protekt (tm) Aire 6000 mattress overlay consists of two layers of air bladder cells. The bottom layer stays inflated to provide extra security in the case of a power failure. This keeps the patient comfortable, should the top layer deflate. The top cover of the mattress is quilted for extra comfort, and the bottom cover features three non-skid panels to keep the mattress from sliding.

The Protekt (tm) Aire 6000 air pump operates quietly and is easy to use. It provides adjustable settings for pressure and air flow, with four alternating times for the alternating pressure function. The Static mode completely inflates the mattress for a firm surface that makes patient transfer in and out of bed easier. Auto firm mode inflates the mattress quickly for easy setup. If the air pressure in the mattress falls too low, it sets off the audible and visual low pressure alarm to quickly alert caregivers. The air pump plugs in using a UL and CSA approved power cord and supports a weight capacity of 350 lbs.

The Protekt (tm) Aire 6000 is available with standard mattress (size 35" x 80" x 8") or extra wide mattress (size 35" x 84" x 8").
