Protekt Aire 4000 Alternating Pressure Low Air Loss Mattress System

The Protekt (tm) Aire 4000 uses two methods to prevent pressure ulcers: alternating pressure and low air loss. The alternating pressure function alternately inflates and deflates air bladders in the mattress to redistribute pressure across the patient's body, relieving the pressure on vulnerable points on the body such as the heels, buttocks, and shoulders. The low air loss feature addresses the problems of heat and moisture buildup by circulating air across the surface of the mattress through 18 tiny holes. The circulation of air across the patient's skin keeps them cool and dry to prevent two of the causes of pressure ulcers.

The mattress overlay consists of twenty 8"½ air bladders that allow for deep immersion into the mattress for a higher level of patient comfort. A CPR valve allows the mattress to be deflated quickly when needed for storage or transport. The mattress comes with a removable vinyl cover that is water resistant, non-shear, and anti-microbial for hygiene and more effective pressure ulcer prevention. The quilted top makes the mattress more comfortable for patients and a non-skid bottom keeps the overlay from sliding around on the bed. The weight capacity for the Protekt (tm) Aire 4000 is 350 lbs. It can be cleaned using a disinfectant solution as needed.

The user friendly air pump has a high air flow at eight liters per minute to provide a constant air supply to the mattress. Adjustable air flow and pressure settings allow for customized levels of comfort for the patient. If pressure in the air bladders gets too low, a low pressure alarm sounds to alert caregivers. This alarm can be disabled with the alarm reset button if desired. The static function fills the air bladders completely for a firm surface that makes it easier for patients to get in and out of bed and sit up. The Protekt (tm) Aire 4000 air pump includes a UL and CSA approved power cord.
