K-6 TURN-ZONE Digital Alternating Rotation LAL System is designed to be used to prevent and treat decubitus ulcers. The control unit for the system monitors mattress pressure and sets patient comfort pressure once height and weight data is entered. The programmed software permits changes to be made to pressure, time, and function. The control panel on the front of the unit is constructed with dome keys and a 4x20 digital LCD display, to make use easy. The display shows current mode, times, weight and height, comfort level pressure, left and right side mattress pressures, and other functions. Once the comfort pressure has been reached, the micro-controller automatically shuts off the pump, which emits 42 - 52 LPM. The Fowler sensor detects a patient's fowler position, and the mattress inflates to 80% higher than set pressure to keep the patient from bottoming. LAL relief can be turned off or on, and while it is on, the system provides continuous LAL relief. To prevent patient tampering, there is a built in lock out key for both settings and power switch. An internal memory retains settings, which is helpful in the case of a power outage.
To deflate the mattress for a CPR procedure, pull the hose from the control unit and simultaneously press connector latches. A caregiver can also disconnect a few air cushions,
which are below the patient's chest. To do this simultaneously press the quick release button on the connector and pull the air cushion connector.
The Smart Support Surface (tm) of the K-6 TURN-ZONE Digital Alternating Rotation LAL System is constructed with a therapeutic support surface. This surface consists of high-quality, urethane-coated, 8-inch, nylon air cushions. These cushions are arranged 16/24 cells per mattress for sufficient alternating rotation therapy with low interface pressures and on-demand LAL relief. This effective design provides angles up to 40 - 5 degrees. The top sheet of the mattress is three layers and assists with the LAL relief. The top sheet is also urethane-coated nylon that is vapor permeable.
All components of the mattress system, such as the manifold, tubing assembly, air cushions, top sheet, and base can be simply attached/detached for cleaning, interchanging, adjusting, and sanitizing.
When not in use, the support surface can be rolled up and carried via two shoulder straps or handles.
There are four options. These options include a mattress system and three bariatric sizes for optimal patient comfort.
