K-2oem ALT-AIRE+ Alternating Pressure with On-Demand Low Air Loss Foam Air Mattress System with Fire Barrier is operated by an easy-to-use control unit. This control unit features dome keys and a LED display. It displays current mode, A/P times, and patient comfort pressure (Soft 0 to Firm 9). LAL relief is optional and can be turned off. When it is on, though, LAL mode gives patient regular LAL relief. Once a patient has reached the desired comfort pressure, the pump shuts off. Inflation of mattresses takes about 5 - 25 seconds, depending on the mattress size. A built-in lock out keys enables the caregiver to prevent the patient from tampering with the controls. An internal memory stores previous settings in the case of a power outage or hose disconnect. The control unit is lightweight and quiet for easy transport and use.
K-2oem ALT-AIRE+ Alternating Pressure with On-Demand Low Air Loss Foam Air Mattress System with Fire Barrier has fire-barrier Kevlar lining with multi-ply visco foam top layer and a hard perimeter bolster which houses foam-filled air cells. The Smart Support Surface is made of high-quality, urethane-coated nylon air cushions, which provide A/P therapy and low interface pressures. The top sheet has a low-friction and low-shear design to reduce irritation and discomfort. All components of the mattress are detachable and washable.
To use the mattress system, place the foam mattress on an existing hospital bed. Then, place the control unit on the footboard. If there is no footboard, put the control unit on the ground, and have it sit on its base.
The Foam Aire mattress can be used as a powered and non-powered mattress. To use it as a powered mattress, simply connect the control unit to the mattress via the hose assembly and set the unit to appropriate settings. For the non-powered options, connect the mattress to the control unit and inflate it by setting the unit to 5. After the mattress has been filled to the needed comfort level, turn the unit off and remove the hose assembly.
If an emergency CPR procedure needs to be done, quickly disconnect the deflate connector, which is visibly marked with the DEFLATE tag. If the mattress is being powered, press the quick release buttons and pull the house from the control unit connector at the same time.
There are five different options available. These options include various dimensions to make sure a patient has optimal comfort and treatment.
Prior to use, care providers must familiarize themselves with the user manual to ensure proper use and safety.
