K-2 KARE-ZONE Digital Alternating Pressure LAL System features an auto-sense, multi-use control unit. It is a single, high airflow pump, which pumps 42-52 LPM. It has RTPM sensor technology, which monitors the pressure of the mattress, and sets pressure when patient height and weight are entered. The built-in software enables a caregiver to make changes to the pressure, time, and function. The control panel of the unit has dome keys and a bright, digital LCD display. Control panel displays current mode, times, weight and height, patient comfort pressure, ZONE 1 and 2 pressures in mmHg, and other functions. Once the goal pressure is reached, the micro-controller shuts it off, and the pump is off most of the time after that. A Wireless Auto Upright (Fowler) Sensor automatically detects a patient's fowler position. After it is detected, the mattress inflates to 80% higher than set pressure to eliminate patient bottoming. While in Auto Upright position, the patient will still be provided with alternating pressure therapy. On-demand LAL relief can be turned on and off. Static or alternating pressures are simultaneously provided with continuous LAL relief. A lock out key is built into the control panel to keep a patient from tampering with the settings and power switch. Overall, the control panel is lightweight, compact, and quiet for everyday use.
K-2 KARE-ZONE Digital Alternating Pressure LAL System is made with a Smart Support Surface (tm) LAL top sheet. This top sheet is three layers and low friction and shear. It is vapor permeable, urethane-coated, breathable nylon. The support system is constructed with high-quality, urethane-coated nylon cushions. These cushions are arranged 16/20 cells per mattress to aid in effective therapy and comfort. If the side bolster option is used, they can be deflated to ease a patient's process of getting in and out of bed. There is a rugged connector that is specifically designed for CPR deflation. In a power outage situation, the system can hold air for multiple days.
The support surface is lightweight and can be easily rolled up, stored, or carried via two handles or shoulder straps.
There are seven available options for the K-2 KARE ZONE System: cell overlay, mattress (10 or 8 inch), raised side bolster, or bariatric.
