K-0oem Foam Mattress System provides a form of therapy to prevent and/or treat decubitus ulcers. This alternating pressure system is operated by an innovative micro-controller with an LED display. The auto-sending, multi-use control unit provides RTPM sensor technology and enables customer changes to pressure, time, and function. It emits about 8 - 12 LPM through the single-flow air pump. The Smart Support Surface give real time and patient interface pressures below areas that are affected by capillary occlusion. The Alternating Pressure therapy provides extensive patient comfort. Both mattress system and control unit are incredibly lightweight for easy storage and transport.

K-0oem ECO-AIRE Alternating Pressure Foam Mattress System's control unit has an easy-to-use control panel with keys and 7-segment LED display. It show current mode, A/P times, and comfort pressure level from Soft (0) to Firm (9). Once the goal comfort pressure level has been reached, the control unit turns off the pump, and the pump remains off most of the time. Caregiver can choose to give patient either static or alternating pressure therapy with this control unit. A built-in lockout key on the panel enables the caregiver to lock the settings and power switch to prevent a patient from tampering with the settings. If there is a power outside or a hose disconnects, an audiovisual alarm will sound an alert. There is a quick disconnect connector for easy and rapid attachment.

The surface of the K-0oem ECO-AIRE Alternating Pressure Foam Mattress System has a low-friction and low-shear producing top sheet, which is vapor-permeable, urethane-coated nylon. The FOAM AIRE mattress is designed with a Kevlar lining, which has a multi-ply, visco foam layer. There is also a hard perimeter bolster, which contains foam-filled air cells. All components, such as the manifold, tubing, air cushions, top sheet, and foam base are interchangeable and be easily sanitized. Care should be taken, though, when removing the Kevlar fire barrier for cleaning.

To use the K-0oem Foam Mattress System, simply unroll it and put it on the bed frame on which it will be used. Unlike the air mattresses, the foam mattress system is without straps, which eliminates the need to have to tuck them and keep the out of the way. This mattress can also be used without the control unit. It will function as a non-powered mattress. However, if the control unit is being used, connect it to the control unit and set the comfort level to the appropriate setting. If the control unit no longer needs to be used after filling the mattress, simply disconnect the hose and unit, and store them in a electronically-safe environment.

For emergency CPR procedures, the FOAM AIRE mattress can be easily and quickly deflated. Disconnect the mattress deflate connector, which is visibly marked with the DEFLATE tag. If the control unit is being used, simultaneously press the quick-release buttons and pull the hose from the unit.
