More Information

Prevent the formation of pressure ulcers and maximize wound healing with the DermaFloat® APL (Alternating Pressure/Low Air Loss) Therapy System from Joerns Healthcare. This therapy system supplies the body with proper pressure redistribution by alternating pressure between adjacent air cells in the mattress. The system is also capable of providing low air loss therapy which automatically adjusts the mattress surface to conform to the individual patient's body shape, weight, and repositionings. In the mattress there are 22 8"-deep therapy cells that air flows through, evenly distributing the patient's weight and maximizing pressure redistribution.

The system is controlled by a therapy control unit that features eight comfort settings and three modes of operation. The modes of operation are: Autofirm, Therapy, and Alternating. The Autofirm mode fully inflates the system and is designed to assist both patients and caregivers during treatment and transfer. The Therapy mode is a static low air loss therapy setting that automatically adjusts to the patients individual body specifications to provide ideal pressure redistribution. The Alternating mode is dynamic, offering unequaled pressure redistribution by alternating pressure between adjacent (A-B) air cells.

This therapy system offers CairRails, an integrated safety feature in the form of air bolsters that form side rails on the edge of the mattress. CairRails prevent patient falls and entrapment, and are recognized by many of the nation's leading healthcare systems for their improvement in patient safety and risk management.

The therapy cover is composed of highly durable polyurethane-coated nylon with low friction and low shear qualities. It's breathable and moisture-wicking, keeping your patient dry while preventing skin maceration. The cover is highly supportive and prevents bottoming out (for patients within weight capacity). Additionally, the cover is treated with an effective antimicrobial agent that blocks the growth of mold, mildew, and odor-causing bacteria.
