The lightweight, non-powered wheelchair lift for cars, trucks, SUV's, and vans uses a tilting joint that allows for a smooth and easy rolling entry and exit from the lift. An adjustable hold-down arm safely secures the wheelchair to the vehicle wheelchair lift.
Using a compact and efficient design, the Tilt-N-Tote Manual Wheelchair Carrier Lift folds down for access to the tail/lift gate access and folds up when not in use. No modifications are needed to the wheelchair in order to be compatible with the manual wheelchair lift. Additionally, the wheelchair lift includes a ball mount as a standard feature.
Loading the Tilt-N-Tote Manual Wheelchair Carrier Lift
To lower the wheelchair lift platform, simply hold the yellow platform handle while pulling the red T handle, and lower the platform slightly. Next, release the red T-handle and lower the platform level to the ground. Pull the red handle again and tilt to the ground. The wheelchair can then be guided onto the lift so that the back wheels rest in the large wheel cradle. Push forward on the wheelchair handles until the platform locks in a level position. Push the hold-down arm firmly against the wheelchair armrest. Tighten the upper arm assembly set screws to secure, and tighten the red locking knob until the hold down arm is pressed firmly against the armrest. Lastly, check to ensure that the chair is firmly secured to the lift. The chair is now ready for transport.
Removing the Chair from the Lift
Pull the red T-handle. Then push down on the wheelchair handles and guide the chair off of the lift. The chair is ready for transport once it has been removed from the lift.
Folding the Platform
Raise up on the yellow handle. The platform will then lock in a level position. Pull the red T-handle and fold the platform. Then lock the platform into place. Fold the hold-down arm completely.
To Use the Fold-Down Feature
Unlock and remove the pin. Pivot the lift to the ground to gain clear access to the vehicle's rear. Raise the lift and replace and lock the pin to secure.
