The Star Stabil-Air Wheelchair Cushion with Air Cells and Foam by Etac is designed to provide ideal postural support and pressure reduction and redistribution for maximum seating comfort. The unique design combines contoured foam with individual air cells for versatile comfort and support.
The internal foam layer sits below the air cells, providing a stable cushion base that prevents the cushion from bottoming out to ensure comfortable support and ideal positioning. The foam layer is contoured to cradle the user's body, supporting the legs, buttocks, and coccyx for optimal positioning. Firm foam helps ease transfers on and off the cushion and provides a second layer of skin protection for the user even if the air cells lose pressure.
Individual air cells provide adjustable pressure relief and comfort to ease discomfort and reduce the formation of pressure ulcers. Air cells are durable and long-lasting, crafted with high-quality, flame-resistant, latex-free neoprene rubber that supports users of any weight. Individual cell design helps promote airflow and comfort to keep users cool, dry, and comfortable while they sit.
The cushion is designed with 2 distinctly sized foam cylinders, with higher cylinders on the outside and lower cylinders in the central area to provide an anatomically correct padding system. The Stabil-Air cushion has a single, interconnected air chamber for consistent support and ease of use. Thicknesses range from 3 to 4 inches for user support needs. An optional cover is available for all cushion dimensions.
