Lumex Extra-Wide Clinical Recliner

The Lumex Extra-Wide Clinical Recliner is specifically crafted for larger residents and patients. As the name suggests, the seat is wider than the standard models of Geri chair and is able to comfortably sit and position patients up to 450 pounds due to its greater weight bearing capacity. The armrests are ergonomically shaped with padding to add comfort for the patient. On each side of the armrests are high-impact side tables that can be used to conveniently hold prep materials. The tables sit flush with the recliners armrests and are durable enough to survive minor bumps and run-ins with the wall during transporting. The edges of the tables are tapered to make cleaning easier. In addition to being very comfortable, the Extra-Wide Clinical Recliner is very portable thanks to its padded push handle and TENTE swivel casters. Three of the casters can be locked via a black tab on each wheel. This way the portability doesnt get in the way when the patient is attempting to relax while stationary. The wheels also feature a directional lock, activated by a green tab, that keeps the recliner on a straight path while being transported, therefore taking away some of the effort put forth by the caregiver.

The clinical recliner is able to be placed in four different positions, three of which are designed for comfort and relaxation, and a Trendelenburg or shock position, which must be positioned by the caregiver. The Trendelenburg position cannot be activated by the patient while in the recliner. The Trendelenburg can easily be quickly actuated by the caregiver by activating the gas cylinder mechanism from the back of the chair. The first comfort position is the upright position which is ideal to be used for patient transport as well as for treatment or therapy. Secondly, the recliner can be placed in the First Recline Position, which can also be referred to as the TV position. This position is perfect for patient treatment, rest, reading, or watching television. The third position is referred to as the Second Recline, or the Full Recline, position. The Second Recline position, once again, is ideal for treatment, rest, or reading. The Extra-Wide Lumex Clinical Recliner has a weight capacity of 450 pounds when evenly distributed. Additionally, the chair has the option of being equipped with a heated cushion integrated into the seat and internal massage mechanism for maximum comfort and relaxation.
