Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner is Ideal for:
½ Oncology
½ Dialysis
½ Nocturnal Therapies
½ Pre/Post Op
½ Infusion Therapy
½ Patient Rooms
Swing-Away Arms
Swing-away arms ease patient transfer and make it easier to maintain and keep the chair clean. This feature can be used by releasing the latch, located at the bottom of the recliner arm.
Fold-Away Side Table
Located on your choice of the left, right, or both sides, a fold-away side table provides a convenient place for personal items, beverages, or meals. This Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner accessory can be used by raising the table and pushing up on thumb tabs to secure the brackets. Two locking hinges provide support and stability.
Push Handle
A push handle, located on the back of the Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner seat, allows caregivers to guide the geri chair where needed. This feature, along with casters and a foot tray, make this chair ideal for transporting patients.
Retractable Foot Tray
A retractable foot tray provides a convenient place for residents to place their feet when being transported by a caregiver. This addition also serves as a step for assistance when transferring in and out of the chair.
4" Wheel Casters
Four inch dual thermoplastic casters resist corrosion and smoothly roll for easy and comfortable patient transfer. A steering caster on the back allows for easy maneuverability and can be locked for improved straight-ahead control.
Wall Hugger Mechanism
The Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner can be positioned just 6" away from the wall and move through all available positions without touching the wall. This feature saves space and ensures that walls are not damaged.
Infinite Adjustability
The Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner can be adjusted into a wide range of different positions. This infinite adjustability allows the resident's position to be changed often. An actuator, located on both sides of the chair, extends the legrest and transforms the geri chair into the TV position. This position, which is perfect for watching television, features a fully extended legrest with the seatback at an upright angle. From this position, the resident can lean back with the back, shoulders, and head to recline back and find a perfect position. The patient can also pull on the arms to recline the seat back. When reclining, the Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner provides excellent stability by moving the recliner and patient forward and slightly up, which keeps the patient centered in the geri chair.
Quick-Release Seat
A removable seat also helps keep the Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner clean, which improves infection prevention. The chair can be fully reclined to expose yellow thumb knobs on both sides of the chair, under the outsides of the seat. These knobs can be removed and the seat can then be moved back into an upright position. From the upright position, the seat can simply be pulled out for cleaning. For models with heat and massage added, a cord will be connected to the seat that prevents the seat from being pulled away from the chair but can still be cleaned around by flipping the seat up and resting it on top of the chair.
All Steel Powder-Coated Frame
For durability, the Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner is made with a corrosion-resistant all steel frame that is powder-coated. Its Z-spring construction absorbs shock and results in greater overall comfort.
Trendelenburg Feature
Trendelenburg places the patient in a flat body position, with a 12 degree inverted recline. This position improves blood flow to core organs and increases patient comfort. The caregiver will put the patient in a TV position and then push down to put the recliner in a fully reclined position. Once in this position, the caregiver would lift and hold on the Trendelenburg release located on the top, back portion of the Champion Bariatric Ascent XL Recliner. This position is usually used only in emergency situations.
