K-Z Z-TURN Digital Alternating Rotation with True Low Air Loss System features an innovative control unit as part of the system. This unit is a micro-controller with auto-sensing and RTPM sensor technology. The software that is programmed into the unit permits customizations to pressure, time, and function. The control panel on the unit is easy to use with its dome keys and bright, LCD digital panel with the dimensions of 4x20. Current mode, various times, weight and height, patient comfort level, and other functions are displayed on the panel. It has a built-in Max Flow mode, which inflates mattresses with 15-50 seconds. The Fowler sensor will detect a patient's fowler position. It sets a pressure to accommodate a patient's pressure needs and inflates mattresses up to 80% higher than the set pressure during fowler position to prevent patient bottoming. The unit provides static, pulse, multi, and rotation therapies with continuous LAL relief. A lockout key enables the care provider to lock the settings and power switch to keep the patient from tampering with them during use. The control unit is quiet, lightweight, and compact for everyday use and/or transportation.
The surface of the mattress of the K-Z Z-TURN Digital Alternating Rotation with True Low Air Loss System is designed with a Smart Support Surface (tm). This surface provides therapeutic support with high-quality, urethane-coated nylon air cushions. These cushions are arranged in a 16/24 cell formation per mattress and provide rotation therapy and LAL relief during rotation or non-rotation cycle. The top sheet of the mattress is low-friction and low-shear producing, which provides additional comfort. It is also constructed with vapor permeable, urethane-coated nylon. The support surface contains components such as manifold, tubing assembly, air cushions, top sheet, and base, which are interchangeable and can be easily removed for laundering or sanitizing.
When not in use, the support surface can be easily rolled up and carrier via two handles or shoulder straps. To store both the control unit and support surface, it is important to store them in plastic, sealed bags to keep them free of dust and debris.
In case of an emergency CPR procedure, there is a rapid disconnect connection specific to this purpose. To use this feature, pull the hose from the control unit while pressing the connector latches. This will release the hose and the mattress will deflate. If a provider would prefer to remove air cushions under the patient's chest area, that is done so by pressing the quick-release button and pulling the cushion connector.
There are four available systems. This includes a standard mattress system or three various bariatric options. Be sure to choose the one that will best suit your patient's needs.
