The Dolomite Step-Up Gait Trainer by Clarke Healthcare is a dynamic gait trainer with an innovative design that offers users the convenience and comfort of a step-up design. This design is characterized by a widened rear to the base of the gait trainer that allows users in other mobility-assisting devices (such as wheelchairs or rollators) to get within the gait trainer's frame before needing to exit their other device. Then, once the user has a comfortable grip of the gait trainer's hand grips, the device's hydraulic adjustable height actively assists the user in standing. This feature makes standing in the gait trainer notably safe and comfortable for the user and significantly reduces the risk of slips or falls while transitioning into the device.

Clarke Healthcare's Dolomite Step-Up Gait Trainer is an innovative gait trainer that features two options: a unique stand-assisting hydraulic height adjustability or the manually adjustable version of the gait trainer. The device also offers a number of features that help to ensure comfort of the user during gait training. The gait trainer's arm pads are strategically angled at 25-degrees, which provides both ergonomic comfort to the user while also promoting enhanced upper arm strength. Additionally, the arm pads and handles of the gait trainer are coated in a soft, pressure-reducing material that is both comfortable and designed to reduce discomfort from frequent or extended use.

The width of the gait trainer can also be easily adjusted between 22.6-inches to 29.6-inches so that it can support users of different body widths with ease. The width can adjust in three increments; 22.6-inches, 26-inches and 29.6-inches. The height of the device adjusts from 34-inches to 51-inches, offering more accommodation for taller users. The gait trainer also features swivel lock casters that have directional brakes to help users focus less on directional movement and more on the action of walking.

Gait trainers work by supporting individuals who are unable to put their full weight on their legs due to conditions or physical ailments. Answer: On the gait trainer, there are wheels with a directional lock, (green latch) which are used to facilitate movement directly ahead. Users press down the latch and swivel the wheel until a click is heard and the wheel no longer rotates. NOTE: The wheel has no brake when the directional lock is mounted. The platform support portion of the gait trainer can be fitted with a service and parking brake to enable users to activate the brakes themselves. The single hand brake included in the product makes it possible for the user to activate aforementioned service- and parking brakes with one hand.
