More Information

With constant eye contact, patients are more confident in and compliant with transfers and therapy, boosting their independence and confidence. Additionally, the TRAM Multifunctional Gait Trainer does not come with an under-body sling, allowing it to be utilized as a toileting aid.

Equipped with a body support system, patients are more comfortable during transfers and training sessions. For the ultimate fit, it comes with four color-coded clips for transferring patients with the most comfortable yet secure fit.

For the ultimate facility or home fit, the TRAM is available in two base frame styles, standard and low, for optimum furniture clearance. With the low-base frame, caregivers can easily maneuver the system under furniture that goes as low as 4.5 inches.

Recent TRAM redesign by Rifton.
The Rifton TRAM that we used as a demo this past February, 2017 is the model pictured here, with a battery cover. The one we just purchased through a local equipment dealer no longer has the battery cover and Rifton tells me that they have improved the model by removing the cover. A patient/client with cognitive and/or muscular spasticity issues in their legs can cause the power to be interrupted and the unit to not move by pushing their feet into the battery which breaks the electrical connection. A series of fixes by Rifton has resulted in greater stability of the power supply but a Velcro strap is needed to keep the power flowing when the patient/client pushes open the battery release latch on top of the battery. My opinion is that this needs to be reviewed by the purchaser to make sure that the unit is appropriate for their needs. It caught me by surprise and not a pleasant one either. .
