Second Step has 3 individual Gait Harness sizes and 2 different styles of Hand Hold Sets to enhance the patient comfort, use, and caregiver performance when using a Gait Harness System. These parts are readily available for sale to the public or clinical settings without pairing it with a costly Gait Harness System. 3 adult sizes in a small, medium and large are available. These accessories are safe for patient transfers from a wheelchair or medical bed. The individual straps can be altered to suit the specific postural and corrective needs of the user.
For home or clinical use, these Gait Harnesses are easy to put on and adjust. There are 3 hand-holds on the harness. These hand-holds provide an additional grip for caregivers to hold onto to safely transfer a patient with ease. These harnesses are designed for full or partial weight-bearing. The gait harnesses are intended to minimize the weight on the lumbar section of the spine. This semi-weightless feeling creates the ideal position for patients to engage their lower body without limitations or discomfort.
Each harness is color-coordinated at the top to ensure the correct size is being used without having to measure every time. The top trunk section of the harness is padded for comfortable use all day. There are large supportive straps that run underneath the thighs. This thigh support allows the patient to sit midair and suspend their feet. Patients are encouraged to move freely while wearing the harness. This is due to the flexible support material that prevents rigid edges from forming.
Hand-Holds come in a set of 2 so you can place one on each side of your Gait Harness System for disabled persons and those recovering from an injury. They do not require tools to install. They are easy and quick to apply. Sizes are available for the Standard Forearm Tops and the Double Wide Tops.
These parts are cost-saving devices that prevent falls, catch patients when they slip, reduce caregiver injury, and reduce the amount of staff needed to adjust or maneuver 1 patient. These parts increase productivity from the staff and clients wearing the harness. Medical staff will be able to adjust a harness quicker while the patient will be more comfortable and supported while active in gait training therapy. Transfer patients from a seated, supine, or standing position with comfort and grace.
