The lightweight, durable splint has a goniometer hinge that can be set to the desired degree of motion, and locked at the proper degree of extension. The Comfyprene Pediatric Goniometer Elbow Orthosis can only be returned, unused, within thirty days.

The Comfyprene Pediatric Goniometer Elbow Orthosis is only indicated for patients with non-fixed contractures (contracted joints that can still be flexed or extended). Elbow contractures are classified as follows:

5-30 degrees = mild contracture
30-90 degrees = moderate contracture
90 degrees plus = severe contracture

The Comfyprene Pediatric Goniometer Elbow Orthosis is recommended for the following uses:

Graduated extension of the elbow

Treatment of non-fixed contractures of the elbow

Helps restrict arthritic changes and deformity related to neuromascular impairment

Positions the flaccid elbow and arm in functional position

Maintains skin integrity by absorbing moisture, allowing air circulation and preventing skin maceration on palmer surface

Features of the Comfyprene Pediatric Goniometer Elbow Orthosis:

The splint is adjustable and readjustable to individual patient without the use of heat or tools

The splint can be graded up to increase elbow extension

The splint is lightweight and durable

The splint straps are foam lined for comfort and to prevent pressure areas

The splint straps close with velcro - but no velcro touches the patient's skin

The splint is soft with rounded padded edges to minimize self-injury

Contra-Indications:

Patient has circulatory problems
Pressure areas or skin irritations appear
Patients has persistent pain in the area treated
Patient has increased edema, redness or blisters
Patient has fixed flexion contractures
