The Comfy Splints Pediatric Goniometer Knee Orthosis should only be used for patients with non-fixed contractures (a contracted joint that can still be flexed or extended). Joint contractures are classified as follows:
5-30 degrees = mild contracture
30-90 degrees = moderate contracture
90 degress plus = severe contracture
