Front and rear ramps allow easy access onto and off of the non-skid, vinyl-coated steel platform. Options are available in different configurations; please read carefully to choose the right option. Platform swing is manufactured to be used with the frames listed here and may or may not work with your swing frame.

Swinging provides cognitive and physical benefits such as proprioceptive input and sensory integration. The Wheelchair Swing Platforms allows those in wheelchairs and of all ages to enjoy swinging, either single or with peers. The Wheelchair Swing Platform minimizes the risk of falling and user discomfort of having to switch from the wheelchair to a swing. The platform measures 32" wide by 38" long to accommodate most wheelchairs.

Options are available for the frame only, in portable and permanent variations, the swing platform only, and portable and permanent full systems with the frame and swing platform. The durable and well-constructed steel frames feature four legs that can support up to 800 lbs. The swing platform comes with the platform, chains, and S-hooks and is intended for frames 8' high.

Portable and permanent options are available for the full system of swinging, which includes the frame, swing platform, chains, and S-hooks.

Are you able to tell me what weight and size of the boxes that the swing would be delivered in?

Answer: I'll list the dimensions and weights of the boxes below.

How secure are the restraints/chains?

Answer: Chains are snapped on each end to secure the back of the wheelchair and its user, just like in a car's seat belt, in the swing platform.
Always take note, you need 2(two) adults in having the platform into an operational position. One holds the platform in position and the other is placing the wheelchair onto the platform.

I'm wondering how durable is this for outside on a playground?

Answer: SportsPlay's Wheelchair Swing Platform and Frame is built for outdoors - shall be fabricated with thick gauges of metals from the top rail down its legs. The wheelchair platform shall be fabricated of thick sheet steel flattened and punched. Swing hangers shall be stamped steel split clamp with ductile hanger and bronze
bearings. All the metals are flo-coated with powder-coated paint.

What does the term "use zone" mean?

What is the difference between the portable and the permanent frame?

Answer: With the portable frame, the legs are stationed on top of the ground and can be relocated, as with the permanent frame, the legs are cemented into the ground.

What is the weight limit for the swing frame and platform?

Answer: The weight capacity for the frame is 800 pounds, and the weight capacity for the platform is 670 pounds (essentially 800 - 130, which is the weight of the platform itself).

Does it work with both manual and power chairs?

Answer: It is designed for children with special needs, but as long as the wheelchair fits within the platform, it shouldn't be a problem - adults do use them as well. The platform is 32 inches by 38 inches, and has a little gate that folds up to keep the user safely inside.
