With a high back cradle seat that supports the head, neck, shoulders, trunk, back, and behind the upper thighs, the Variable Axis Swing can be used by those who need extra positional support. With a knob located on the side of the therapy swing seat, the angle can also be adjusted, allowing for those with less control of posture and motor skills to be leaned back for safety and security.
The Variable Axis Swing provides an opportunity for clients of all developmental levels to be exposed to vestibular and proprioceptive inputs that help clients analyze distance, speed, and placement, or spatial awareness, in relation to other things in their environment. This form of therapy helps develop perception, which can be difficult for clients with conditions such as autism and cerebral palsy.
