To apply, just remove the thermometer from its backing and insert it into the axilla (underarm) deeply. Once the arm is shut, give it 2-3 minutes for the first reading. Reading again takes hardly any time; simply raise your arm to see the temperature. The final black dot represents the present temperature, which is between 97.5F to 99.5F considered normal for oral and axillary readings.
