The Swede-O Walking Boot is made for patients with severe ankle sprains, stable ankle fractures, post-surgery, and post cast recovery. Studies have shown that applying pressure to stable injuries helps facilitate recovery. The combination of immobilization and supported weight bearing will help the patient return to normal activities faster. The bottom is shaped to assist with the weight bearing by rocking and distributing pressure away from the injury. Additionally, there is a non-slip coating on the bottom in order to prevent falling accidents. The combination of the rocker bottom, non-slip layer, and low profile heel promotes natural gait with the patient. The shock absorbing foam insole and heel cushion can absorb and distribute the impact of the heel strike when walking. The footbed is wide in order to create more stability while leaving room for a compression bandage and features a deluxe foam liner for additional user comfort. Each of these walking boots is durable, yet lightweight and the tall and short boots include fitting pads that can be placed to accommodate extra space around the ankle, heel, or leg. Both the tall and short boots have uprights that have been contoured to extend the comfort up to the leg. All three of the boots have been bilaterally designed to fit right or left feet.
