The Swede-O Versi-Splint Ankle Support helps relieve pain, swelling, and prevents further aggravation from acute ankle injuries. This splint is very versatile as it can provide a combination of medial and lateral ankle stabilization, compression, and cold therapy. Inside the splint are durable, vinyl bladders that contain air and gels. The bladders are double sealed to prevent leaks. The upper bladder is filled with air while the lower bladder contains gels that retain cold temperature after exposure. Using the air and gels, the Versi-Splint is able to simultaneously give the user proper compression and cold therapy. The outer shell is made of a lightweight, contoured rigid plastic that can fit comfortably on both the left and right ankles. The heel pad is very thin in order to fit easily inside most types of shoes. In order to take advantage of the cold therapy, the splint should be placed in the freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes. Once cold, the gel will provide cold therapy for approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
