The Special Tomato Small MPS Car Seat System brings the innovative mobile positioning system to a safe, well-tested car seat shell to provide a comfortable and supportive seating system that keeps your child safe while in a vehicle. The outer car seat shell supports the cushions to maintain proper positioning. It features a convenient hook and loop track that allows this seat to conform to your childs body and be adjusted to grow with them, allowing for years of use. This system is designed with Hip-Flex adjustment that provides 30 degrees of pivot, with 15 degrees of hip extension and 15 degrees of hip flexion. This allows for comfortable, natural movement within a properly supported and aligned position.
This seating system includes soft, lightweight cushions that are constructed with the innovative Soft-Touch technology for a seat that is specially formulated to allow children to sit comfortably for a longer period of time. Additionally, the contoured designs of Special Tomato products provide a large surface area for distributing pressure which reduces the risk of skin shear and breakdown. The cushions are created from a latex-free material that is peel and tear resistant, with a surface that repels moisture. This material makes the seat stain resistant and allows for feeding in the car without worry.

The MPS system has been successfully tested and approved by the FAA for aircraft travel. It is also compliant with US FMVS213 - meeting all requirements for car seats designed for children weighing up to 80 pounds for the Small Size and 150 pounds for the Large Size. The LATCH System can be used to anchor the MPS as a car seat for children up to 50 lbs. If your vehicle does not have LATCH System or if your child weighs between 50 and 150 lbs., a vehicle lap/shoulder belt must be used. The tether system must be installed at ALL times when using your Special Tomato MPS as a car seat.

Important Notes:
NHSTA School Bus Rules/Regulations do not include special needs car seat regulations for children over 40 lbs. The MPS Car Seat is not tested for installation directly into a school bus seat. Please note that Special Tomato does offer the Push Chair Kit which conforms to WC19 standards for use with a tie down system in transport.
The MPS Car Seat does NOT come with a Footrest, and Footrests cannot be used while the seat is being used in a vehicle.
The MPS Car Seat cannot be used in Canada.
There is a 10-year Expiration Date for the MPS Car Seat and the MPS Push Chair Kits for use during transportation. The MPS Seat itself can be used beyond 10 years with the Wooden Mobile Base or attached to a standard chair.
