The Defender Special Needs Car Seat is a car booster seat specially designed for the safety and comfort of children with special needs. The five-point harness comfortably holds your child in place and is easily adjustable with no re-threading required. This seat can be used in Booster Mode for children weighing between 30 and 110 lbs and with heights between 34 and 57 inches or in Harness Mode for children weighing between 22 and 65 lbs and with heights between 27 and 57 inches.
This car seat offers full impact protection from 360 degrees in order to maximize the safety of your child. It has been tested multiple times to ensure the ultimate safety. This seat has been approved in accordance with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 for general use in vehicles to provide certifiable safety that you can trust.
The Defender Car Seat is compatible with most vehicles. A correct fit is likely if the car handbook states that it is capable of accepting a Universal Restraint System for this age group. This car seat installs easily in any seat with a 3 point (lap and shoulder belt) seat belt, but is only suitable for forward-facing installations.
This car seat is available with a variety of optional accessories to cater to each childs unique shape, size, and needs. This not only allows each Defender Car Seat to be tailor-made for each childs needs, it also allows the car seat to grow and change with your child. To reach maximum seat width the additional hip guide pads can be removed from the additional seat pad, and to reach maximum back height and shoulder height the additional seat and foam pads can be removed from under the seat cushion.
The optional accessories can be combined for a unique fit and custom comfort that can grow and change with your child over time. Please see below for photo depictions of the optional accessories. Thomashilfen North America recommends the use of the large crotch pad only in booster mode. The addition of the Adjustable Footrest requires the purchase of the Footrest Adaptor and Base Plate.
