Smart Orthotic Treatment SOT Thumb Orthosis

The Smart Orthotic Treatment SOT Thumb Orthosis is an orthopedic device specifically designed to help restrict movement in the CMC and MCP joint and support the user's hand arch usually for individuals experiencing osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, overload injury of the CMC joint, or adduction contracture of the thumb.

The Smart Orthotic Treatment (S.O.T.) orthosis has an easily molded and shaped palmar aluminum core reinforced section. This will comfortably support the user's thumb in an optimal anatomically resting position to help restrict the movement in the user's hand and thumb area by correctly positioning the thumb's muscles and joints in a more comfortable resting and natural hand position. This resting position will enhance healing and rehabilitation, decrease pain, and help to avoid overstretched ligaments that can promote joint subluxation.

The soft and supportive compressing textile material cover has no hard seams or edging that will cause discomfort and is easy for the user to put on and take off his hand. The completely new anatomically shaped thumb and palm orthosis's aluminum core reinforcement can be custom molded to fit individual anatomy and can be easily adjusted to provide a more customized fit as the hand contracture changes.

The SOT thumb orthosis with the cover attached can be put into a laundry bag and machine washed at 104-degrees to keep the device clean and prolong its usability.

The SOT thumb orthosis is available in sizes small, medium, and large as well as for either the right or left hand, and once purchased, the orthosis will be shipped within one day after ordering. To measure for the correct size, measure the MCP width and length from the wrist to the end of the finger.
