In addition to anterior gait training, it is equipped for posterior gait training due to the ability to adjust or reverse prompts or supports. With the ability to easily attach and detach prompts and supports, the Rifton Small Pacer Gait Trainer makes a great choice for growing children at home or a multi-user facility.
In addition to the frame height adjustment, the arm prompts can be height adjusted as well as an ultimate fit for the user. Other adjustments include the different brake styles on the swivel casters:
- The swivel lock is applied when two- or bi-directional movement is needed, removing unnecessary sideways movement.
- With the swivel lock, the one-way ratchet control ensures the user can only go in one direction, eliminating involuntary backward movement.
- For slowing a user down or assisting with corner navigation, the variable drag brake can be dialed on and off with a zero to maximum dial for custom drag needs.
- For full stopping, the standard white brake pedal is optimal for stopping the user from any movement.
The framework for these gait trainers has been applied with a baked-on powder coating that makes it resilient to changing weather conditions. The upper frame is available in two different models. There is the Dynamic Frame is ideal for individuals that require some movement when they take their next step. This Dynamic Upper Frame has an inventive system that allows the handles to move three-inches up-and-down and two-inches side-to-side. Children who move their upper body in sync with their lower body will appreciate the gentle fluidity of the Dynamic Frame. The Standard Frame does not feature the same movement as posted above. It is an economic, base model with a solid, stable construction.
Since this line of gait trainer is comprised of two separate frames, it is easy to take apart and store in the back seat or trunk of a vehicle when going from one patient to another. The dual frame design also allows the caregiver or medical professional the ability to switch out top frames to accommodate the needs of the patient. Adjusting the height has been made easier so you can spend more time with the patient and less time adjusting the walking aid. This fresh new telescoping column design can be raised and lowered with one hand.
