More Information

The natural up and down movement of walking is mimicked by the Mustang Gait Trainer's dynamic center spar. With the user in the center of the Mustang, upper body stability is maximized while energy is focused on walking. The U-shaped frame wraps around your child for support, easy access and transfer. A slight forward leaning position, combined with built-in suspension, stimulates the natural walking pattern.

The folding frame of the Mustang makes storage and transport simple and easy. Standard lock out brakes can be drag adjusted to either increase or decrease the speed if needed. Four sizes and colors are offered above (shown below) to suit those with both minimal physical involvement in trunk and pelvic support as well as upper body for more moderate to severe levels of involvement.

Recommended for children with a user height range of 23.5"½ - 31.25"½ (floor to axilla (armpit) measurement). All specifications and sizing information is below. Standard: Four solid wheels, drag wheel function, reverse brake, chest support, angle and height adjustable center spar and a directional stabilizer.

Optionally you may add an extra pad for chest support (one size fits all), a cover for the chest support (by size), and a firm or sling style seat (by size). The firm style offers a resting position for fatigue and can mount the sacrum or hip supports on the gait trainer. The sling seat offers partial weight bearing support only. Chest supports have an optional extension piece shown below to eliminate the gap when width adjusting the chest support.

Headrests require additional equipment for hip or sacrum supports and connecting rod. Hip and sacrum supports require a Mustang 869110 (firm) seat. Hip and sacrum supports stabilize the pelvis. Abdominal support provides additional anterior pelvic control. Headrests (shown below in four styles) are black polyurethane (cover is not included); Anatomic head supports include black Ducutex cover.

Arm supports are offered for anterior use, arm prompts for either anterior or posterior use, or arm rests for anterior including handles. Arm rests and prompts provide forearm support which helps to stabilize the trunk and head. arm rests provide forearm support. Hand bars provide hand control for anterior use.

A leg separator is also offered optionally by size to prevent scissoring. The attendant guide bar acts as a steering mechanism for caregivers (size 1 and 2 only) with easy one-tool mounting in mere seconds (please see video for demonstration). The ankle prompt system provides further gait pattern assistance with an optional leg pad for knee protection.
