The Drive Medical Pump For LS9000 Low Air Loss Mattress System is a blower type of air pump that is capable of transferring or wicking moisture vapor away from a patient lying on an LS9000 low air loss mattress by helping to maintain a comfortable microclimate, or a patient's proper skin temperature and humidity.

The Powerloft Pro 900 pump will produce 1180 liters of airflow per minute to provide a dry and cool microclimate sleeping surface for the patient.

The blower has various modes or functions, one of which is an Auto-Firm feature that provides a 1-minute fill rate.

Another blower function is the exclusive 30-second pulsation mode that will reduce the airflow every 30 seconds to 50% of the comfort setting by intermittently reducing air pressure of the mattress to provide a pressure redistribution via 30-second cyclic changes. The pulsation mode is designed to increase lymphatic drainage to help decrease swelling as well as increasing the patient's blood flow with a "massaging" type of movement that will help ulcerated or at-risk skin-damage patients who cannot reposition themself or be easily repositioned manually.

The static function can be used to suspend the pulsating mode.
