Outer Removable Coverlet
The purple-colored coverlet is fluid proof, cleanable and flame resistant. It is highly vapor permeable (4500 grams/meter2/24 hours) and fluid-proof. Both of its fabrics (smooth top fabric and the crush-proof air diffusion matrix fabric) are bacteriostatic and maintain a pathway for air flow, even under patient weight. Coverlet can be routinely wiped clean and disinfected in place, or can be removed and machine laundered according to owner's manual.
Inner Air-Delivery Cover
The greenish gray, multi-layered cover supplies air to the microenvironment between the cover and coverlet while serving as a barrier to protect the inside of the mattress from both fluids and vapors, Unlike the purple removable coverlet, it is intended to remain on the mattress at all times.
Air Cylinders
The inflation system consists of four air cylinders that run lengthwise underneath the body. Unlike standard low air loss systems, the Easy Air does not lose air from the inflation system for "low air loss", and can be programmed to perform either "flotation"½ or "alternating pressure."½
Foam Shell - Geo-Matt topper
The exclusive Geo-Matt® style foam topper is a high density, medical grade foam. The unique geometric design consists of over 800 individual cells, each of which acts individually to customize patient comfort, support, and pressure reduction and redistribution. This foam topper is 2" in height and includes the unique Heel Slope(tm) feature, designed to further reduce pressure for the sensitive heel area.
Safety Edge(tm) Bolsters
The Safety Edge(tm) consists of a firm 2-part foam bolster whose inner edge contours under pressure to direct the patient towards the center of the mattress. This adds to patient stability in sitting and lying down, and helps prevent falls and entrapment between the siderail and the mattress.
Control Unit
The quiet, energy efficient control unit houses both a high volume air blower and a lower volume air pump. The blower component provides air for the low air loss function through the cover/coverlet, while the pump component provides air to the air-cylinder inflation system. The filters on the control unit need to be cleaned regularly.
PressureGuard® Easy Air(tm)
Low-air-loss Therapy with Alternating Pressure
Best performance. None of the compromises.
Clinicians choose low air loss systems to address maceration, the weakening of the skin due to excess moisture.
The new PressureGuard Easy Air is independently documented to outperform every leading low air loss system in this key performance area.
Remarkably, it does so with none of the compromises low air loss users have come to accept, thanks to its exclusive Air Diffusion Matrix technology and PressureGuard air/foam design.
Easy Air won't lose inflation in a power outage. Its stable surface won't "swallow up" the user. And its Safety Edge(tm) won't collapse like air-only mattresses can, making transfers safer. It won't make the user too hot or too cold, either.
Ultra-simple to set up, clean and use. Dial sets the comfort level. "On/off" buttons control air flow and alternating pressure feature.
Weight limit: 500 lbs. on standard model
Mattress weight: 22 lbs.
Warranty: 2-years, non-prorated.
The “True” Test: Moisture Control
There is no universally accepted definition of “low air loss”
(LAL) in medical literature. As a result, claims are made that
“true” or “genuine” low air loss is defined by construction
features such as air flow volume, cover fabric, or air loss
method. But clinicians primarily prescribe LAL for its unique
ability to minimize maceration and heat build-up by removing
excess moisture. Therefore, quantifying the amount of moisture
it removes is the most meaningful validation of a LAL system’s
effectiveness. Head-to-head testing done in conjunction with
a major university verifies that the PressureGuard Easy Air
surpasses all leading competitors in this key performance criterion.
