The Posterior Ankle Stability Leaf Splint is designed to assist those with foot drop in more comfortable, natural ambulation while stabilizing the foot and ankle. This lightweight Ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) slides under the user's foot with the upright part fitting behind and up against the calf of the leg; the splint will slightly bend while the user is upright and recoil to assist the user in lifting his foot, creating a more natural gait and allowing users to ambulate as they normally would without an orthosis. The splint will easily fit into most sized shoes and can be trimmed for a custom fit.

The Posterior Ankle Stability Leaf Splint is a lightweight AFO is designed to assist an individual with a mild to moderate neurological deficit that results in drop-foot (also known as foot-drop). Constructed of translucent polypropylene, this AFO can be comfortably worn out of sight beneath slacks and will fit into most laced up shoes.

The leaf splint AFO is sturdy yet flexible and will slightly bend with the user is upright. During ambulation it then recoils, assisting flexion toward the back while the user is walking and helping to keep the user's toes from dragging along the ground. Its L-shaped design slides under the user's foot with the upright portion lined up behind the user's calf. To fit securely to the user, a 2-inch-wide, heavy-duty Velfoam strap comfortably secures the AFO to the foot.

The lead splint can be further customized to the user by heating the material with a heat gun to make the surface more malleable and then trimming the material with cast scissors. The splint can be hand washed in mild detergent.

needs two straps

I am very unhappy with this product ! It was sharp on the edges and left marks on my leg. It does not do what its supposed to do. Waste of money !! Not even worth one star.
