Posey Single Patient Use Gait Belts are used to help reduce the risk of injury to both the patient and caregiver during caretaker assisted patient ambulation or transferring from one sitting area to another.
The 2" wide cotton-webbing belt is designed to be used for only one patient to help reduce or eliminate cross-contamination and when the belt is no longer needed, it can be discarded.
The gait belt is available in either a short length for waist sizes up to 51", or a long length for users with a waist size up to 71" with an option of a 'quick release' buckle on either size belt.
A gait belt is a tool used by caregivers to assist an individual from injuring themself from a loss of balance or an uncontrolled fall during mobility or ambulation. The gait belt provides a caregiver a secure holding point for proper and safe assistance instead of holding the back of the client's pants or shirt while helping their client walk.
The gait belts will arrive in an economical case of 50, making this an ideal way for a medical facility to stay stocked up with this much needed medical safety device.
