The Pediatric 6 Foot Heated Circuit is a hose that connects a tracheostomy tube or a trach collar to a humidification chamber to provide warm moist humid air to a child's throat and lungs.
As a child breathes through a trach tube, his throat and lungs become dry from the machine compressed forced air flowing through the trach tube or trach collar. This can cause discomfort and more difficulty with coughing up the thickened mucus within his lungs because thick mucus can block the trach tube.
The heated circuit hose connects with the trach tube or trach collar and provides warm and moist air from a humidification chamber. The moist air helps soothe the lungs and thin out the mucus, making it easier for the child to manage his breathing and cough up the thinner mucus.
The tubing is available in a 6-foot or 8-foot length and comes in an economical case of 20.
