Product Overview:

The Pad Plus adds extra buoyancy to the Delta and Tri Swim Systems, making Aquatic Therapy easier. It modifies the Delta and the Tri Swim Systems by adding extra padding around the front section. In effect, the body position is raised in the water. This increases swimmer confidence until sufficient muscle strength has been obtained to swim without modifying the swim systems. The Delta Swim and Tri Swim Systems are sold separately (see below). Order in the same size as the swim system.

More Information

This swimming flotation equipment is constructed from Ensolite® Marine Flotation Foam. The Ensolite® foam is equipped with insulating properties that help it to retain the patient's body heat. Designed to not sink or absorb water, the Pad Plus for the Delta Swim and Tri-Swim Systems stays buoyant even if cut or punctured. Each piece is triple coated with a durable, bright yellow vinyl finish, making it highly visible in the water. Equipped with rainbow polypropylene webbing and super tough nylon buckles that resist chlorine and salt water corrosion, the Aquatic Therapy product is easily cleaned by hand, using mild detergent. Sizing
In order to help decide on the type of equipment and the appropriate size for the individual, here are a few basic considerations:
  • Amount of spasticity/rigidity exhibited
  • Amount of trunk and head control that the individual exhibits
  • Age, weight and amount of body fat that contributes to natural buoyancy
  • Individual's medical condition, considering the type and severity of the disability
  • Teaching goals which are desired i.e. maximum or minimum flotation for full range of motion in the extremities
  • Versatility of equipment: Swim aids are designed for all age groups and may be adapted to changing levels of proficiency.

    The Delta Swim System
Designed to encourage swimming development, this system enhances the body's center of buoyancy using front and back section pads that can be removed as skills improve. The system is ideal for those who are ambulatory with postural balance and arm control. A unique crotch strap keeps the Delta Swim System in place. Used during resistance training to strengthen muscles, the aquatic therapy device also works well when the user exercises by walking , running, and performing aerobic exercises in the pool. It can also be used to pinpoint muscle strengthening during resistance training. As the swimmer improves, pads can be removed. The Pad Plus can be added for additional buoyancy.

    The Tri-Swim System
Ideal for geriatric rehab swim programs, this system gives supplementary support for those who have some swimming skills. A moderate amount of lift helps maintain the body in a traditional swimming position. The Tri-Swim System utilizes a quick-release waist strap for easy on/off. The Pad Plus provides additional buoyancy.
