More Information

Southpaw's Not-So-Infant Pediatric Sensory Therapy Swing allows those who need extra support to receive vestibular stimulation through motion affecting the inner ear, where the vestibular system is located. This form of stimulation helps regulate balance and provides spatial orientation, which is necessary for coordination of movement.

By adding Southpaw's Vertical Stimulation Device, the Not-So-Infant Pediatric Sensory Therapy Swing bounces up and down in a vertical movement. Vertical bouncing provides straight line vestibular stimulation that helps organize and focus the nervous system. Because the bouncing movement provides more rotation that linear swinging, more stimulation occurs.

Other activities can be used in combination with the Not-So-Infant Pediatric Sensory Therapy Swing. For instance, visual tracking skills can be worked on when the therapist incorporates bright colored toys into the swinging activity. Clients can reach for these items, which helps activate the core and helps encourage the use of bilateral coordination and visual tracking skills.

My little guy needs extra sensory and vestibular stimulation. I havent been able to find that with anything else, and I would definitely recommend this swing to others looking for something like it. He can jump up and spin, which has been very helpful. The swing is well constructed, really sturdy, and very durable.
