The Pioneer 4 Portable Electric Mobility Scooter from Merits is built with comfort in mind. The thick padded seat swivels in 45-degree increments, allowing for easy transfers and simple seat entries/exits. The armrest height, width, and angle are also adjustable. For an even more comfortable driving position, the tiller angle can be adjusted closer or further away. The brakes are intelligent, regenerative, and electromagnetic. With a driving speed of up to 5-mph, you can easily keep up with your peers, and possibly even surpass them in speed! Large wheels allow this scooter to traverse a multitude of indoor and outdoor terrains. Equipped with a headlight, tail light, turning signals, and hazard lights, maneuvering is made much safer. This wheelchair utilizes an off-board charger.

Options include an oxygen tank holder, can and crutch holder, walker holder, canopy, and foldable rear basket.

How do I engage the manual free-wheel mode on this Pioneer 4?
Answer: The free-wheel mode can be activated by turning the key switch OFF and locating the free-wheel lever at the back, the right side of the scooter, near the wheel. Then push the lever to the "down" position to disengage the brake and allow the scooter to be pushed freely. The lever should be pushed back to the UP position to reengage the brake. Remember that in free-wheel mode there are no brakes. You will not be able to operate the scooter. BE CAUTIOUS.
Is any assembly required?
Answer: Scooters typically ship in 1 or 2 boxes. Typically the battery arrives first, shortly followed by the scooter box. The seat easily connects to the base. The arms and joystick need to be connected, and finally, the battery needs to be connected.
How many rearview mirrors do the Pioneer 4 Portable Electric Mobility Scooter come with?
Answer: The Pioneer 4 comes standard with 1 rearview mirror, but an additional one can be ordered if you would like 2. Please contact us.
