DiaMedical USA's Bari Care Med-Surg Mattress is an innovative med-surg mattress that offers top-tier comfort and support through its unique, multi-layer design. The multiple layers of the mattress work together to ensure the comfort and safety of the patient. The outermost layer is the mattress's cover, which features two unique side designs. The top side of the cover is made with Nymed healthcare grade nylon that is ultra-soft while also being fluid-resistant, antimicrobial, non-allergenic, and self-deodorizing. The underside of the cover (which rests below the mattress) is made with Vynmed healthcare grade vinyl that makes it highly durable and tear-resistant.

Beneath the mattress cover is both a fire barrier layer and a secondary fluid barrier, which both serve to protect the mattress from fire or liquid damage. At the center of the mattress is its multi-layered foam core. The core is designed to provide the broad support of the mattress while also actively redistributing pressure away from common areas of pressure buildup in order to prevent pressure sores and other discomforts associated with extended time in bed. The foam core features a top 1-inch layer of soft conforming foam, a 2-inch layer of performance soft foam, a 2-inch layer of semi-firm foam, and a bottom 2-inch layer of supportive base foam. These foam layers work together to provide the broad support provided by the mattress.

Joining these layers, the mattress also features its FirmEdge Passive Restraint System at the outer edge of the mattress, which is a firm layer designed to provide extra support when patients are entering or exiting the bed. Finally, to ensure that the mattress can accommodate almost any hospital bed frame, it is available in multiple lengths and widths.
