The Pad with Fixed Pressure Pump offers continuous, fixed air pressure for patients requiring a consistent style of treatment.

The Pad with Variable Pressure Pump provides a dynamic sleep surface that allows caregivers to adjust the level of patient support.

The Pad with End Flaps and Variable Pressure Pump offers the same dynamic sleep surface as the Pad with Variable Pressure Pump, but is more secure when used on patient beds. The end flaps wrap under the mattress to hold the pad in place.

The Med-Aire Alternating Pressure Pump with Pad System is a uniquely designed mattress topper that inflates 130 individual air bubbles for a more tranquil and reduced pressure sleep. The option to choose either a fixed pump or a variable pump is available. The fixed pump will maintain a steady, constant air pressure throughout the mattress at five-minute intervals. The variable pump features a dial that lets the user set their own comfort level along a range of soft to firm.

Both pump designs have built-in brackets that allow it to be mounted to the head or foot of the bed for accessible reach or for the caretaker to control. If the pump is placed next to the head of the bed you can be reassured that you will not wake up when the 5-minute cycle begins. The pump is designed to be quiet and not interrupt your sleep.

The filter is easy to change. There is a 300-pound weight limit. The warranty is 1-year on the pump and 90-days on the mattress.

I didnt order the extended version because I thought it was over priced. Weve had no trouble at all with the normal length. I was a bit surprised to find that the firm setting caused some discomfort occasionally, but with the variable pump that problem was easily solved.

The product does not have end straps as depicted. Instead the mattress is extended in length to be tucked under the mattress.
I dont necessarily like this feature, as you have to make sure it stays tucked under.
