Premium Guard Gel Overlay

The Premium Guard Gel Foam Overlay has been improved and redesigned to effectively redistribute both pressure and comfort. The foam overlay has been largely optimized in order to prevent, treat, and manage pressure ulcers. Drive Medical offers their Premium Guard Gel Foam Overlay in both standard and bariatric weight options. The newer of the two models is the bariatric overlay which is suitable for patients up to 500 pounds. In order to properly redistribute the users weight, the overlay includes 15 gel bladders that cover the entire patient contact area. By using a multiple bladder design covering the entire overlay, Drive created an overlay that will not bottom out on users over time. The bladders used contain an aqueous non-toxic gel and polystyrene beads that minimize gel migration. This will increase the overlays ability to stay in its original form after multiple uses. To make the bed overlay as comfortable as possible, theyve incorporated a new convoluted foam topper. The foam topper benefits users by providing their bodies with the proper air circulation.

Drive Medical has also included many design features in their Premium Guard Gel Foam Overlay that make it durable and long-lasting. The first feature is its four elastic corner straps that secure the foam overlay to the mattress. Next, theyve added a urethane-coated nylon cover to the overlay. This cover is both water-resistant and vapor permeable. Lastly, Drive includes a vinyl base that is both stain-resistant and waterproof.
