These Expandable Universal Mattresses have the capability of expanding in height to 8 or 10 inches and a length 72, 76, 80, and 84 inches. They initially arrive at 84 inches. For inflation, make sure the heel regulator and other connections are in the correct positions. To decrease the size, simply unzip the cell cover and unplug the last air cell. In order to decrease to lower levels, repeat the process. Do not reduce below 72, though. There is no authorized reduction below 72 inches. There is a four position valve at the foot of each universal mattress. The purpose of this valve is to inflate the mattress and supplemental air bladder. Deflation of the mattress is as easy as setting the valve to the correct point and pulling the hose from the connector. For emergency CPR procedures, move the valve selector to the correct position, and pull the hose from the control unit connection. Then, disconnect the air pad plug labeled, DEFLATE, which is also at the foot of the mattress.
Each system is controlled via micro-controller control unit that corresponds with its series. The control panel on the unit for the K-Z Universal Mattress is easy to use with its dome keys and bright, LCD digital panel with the dimensions of 4x20. Current mode, various times, weight and height, patient comfort level, and other functions are displayed on the panel. The unit provides static, pulse, multi, and rotation therapies with continuous LAL relief. For the K-4 Universal Mattress, the control panel of the unit is designed with dome keys and a bright, 4x20 digital LCD display. This allows caregiver to make selections of patient pressures, A/P time (1-99 minutes), and comfort level pressure. Static, alternating pressure, pulse, massage, or multiple therapies are simultaneously provided with true low air loss relief. The control panel for the K-3 Universal Mattress on the face of the control unit is designed with dome keys and 4x20 digital, LCD display. The panel displays current mode, times, weight and height, comfort pressure, and other functions. Either static or pulsating therapy is simultaneously provided with continuous low air loss relief.
A lockout key enables the care provider to lock the settings and power switch to keep the patient from tampering with them during use. The control unit is quiet, lightweight, and compact for everyday use and/or transportation.
Transportation of a patient is simple with a K-3, K-4, or K-Z Universal Mattress. Set the valve to the correct position, make sure unit is stabilized, and turn off the control unit. The mattress will deflate, but bottom air bladders will stay inflated. Once this has happened, the patient can be safely and comfortably transported.
There are three options available: the K-3 Universal Mattress (for K-3 AIRE ZONE), K-4 Universal Mattress (for K-4 D3X), and K-Z Universal Mattress (for K-Z Z-TURN). Be sure to choose the correct system for your needs.
